My View: Surprise Surprise - Broadwayworld Checks Out Jennifer Diamond by Stephen Sorokoff

Times Square Chronicles November 9, 2015

Complete transparency here, I cover entertainment events for Broadwayworld. While I respect BWW I do not fear BWW so here are hopefully favorable photos of an actor/singer who happens to be married to Robert Diamond, founder of Broadwayworld. Jennifer Diamond's debut at Feinstein's/54 Below would have probably gotten the same cheering ovations from a "normal" audience, but friends, family, and Broadway folk couldn't contain their enthusiasm for this very talented and supremely entertaining performer. Richard Jay-Alexander director to the stars wrapped Jennifer with the words and music that properly displayed the superior acting and vocal talents of his client, and music director Joseph Thalken had all the right notes to support this wonderful singer. Jennifer has it all, she's seriously funny, can seriously act, and has a robust voice capable of sounding effective in all genres. Now lets have her perform her cabaret act for the regular folks so everyone can enjoy, it's bashert (meant to be). more...

The Broadway Dreams Foundation presented their Third Annual New York Benefit Performance at the Florence Gould Hall (55 East 59th Street) on Monday, November 21, 2011. The special evening, which only happens once a year in NYC, got a spontaneous ovation after a non-stop, 100 minute show, which showed off the talents of BDF students and faculty that assembled from across the country to perform and to show the audience what they were about.

The concert, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander with musical direction by Roberto Sinha and Leandro Cohelo, included highlights from this past summer's "True Colors" BDF musical theatre intensives...The musical direction was top notch and the material was so varied that you barely had time to recover from the last number. Part of the line-through of the evening was Broadway dreams coming true. And, whether it was Joseph Hetterley winning the Broadway Dreams contest, sponsored by BroadwayWorld.com to onstage tears, or Tyler Hanes playing Enjolras, orJennifer Diamond singing 'I Will Never Leave You' with Eden Espinosa, or Olivia Hardy singing 'Home' from THE WIZ or Dane Cox singing 'Tonight' from WEST SIDE STORY with Melissa Errico, tears flowed easily.
